Gardening and Art

It's raining this morning.  I am very thankful for the lovely rain on my garden and on the farmer's fields.  We have needed rain for awhile.  It rained yesterday in the morning here and in some places in the afternoon also.

How do gardens meet up with art?  Or maybe better, how do artists and photographers meet gardens?  Are there some gardens that are better than others?  For me, flower gardens are the absolute best.  I love all the opportunities for photographing the beautiful blooms, especially getting up close for macro photography.  I have found something very interesting in that regard.  My cell phone camera takes amazing close-up and macro photography without any extra gizmos attached!  This is just one example.  It is the center of a hollyhock complete with drops of pollen.  You can find this on my website.

Photographing the garden flowers around my home is one thing.  But painting them, for me, that is something very different as I do not paint realistically.  I paint abstract, or whimsy.  Many artists attempt Monet-style impressionism.  I have tried this a couple of times, but would really enjoy learning to do this style of painting.  Over this summer, I hope to learn how to paint the flowers in my little garden as well as those in the other gardens around my home.  Join me as I learn.  Together we can learn to paint a garden with YouTube videos I will share as I find them.  See you next time!
